Hi everyone! My name is Mrs. Heinkel and I am thrilled to be your 2nd grade teacher this school year! I live in Buffalo Grove with my husband, Mr. Heinkel, and our rambunctious golden retriever, Milo. I earned my B.A. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona with an ESL endorsement. I have been working with children for around 15 years now. My journey began at Banner Day Camp, where I finished as a director. This will be my 7th year teaching in the classroom. I have previously taught first grade and kindergarten in Chicago Public Schools. I will be working on my masters degree for the next couple of years focused around literacy. Additionally, I am a certified yoga teacher for both children and adults, specializing in social-emotional well-being and trauma-informed practices.
