D96 Learning Targets

Our curriculum is based on the Common Core. We have delved into the Common Core standards to find the skills and strategies expected of our students. These clearly defined skills are what we refer to as targets.  Each trimester is composed of a specific set of targets per content area. These targets are what you will find on your child's report card. As we instruct these specific skills, social-emotional learning and technology integration are strongly embedded into daily school experiences.

When targets are reported out, you will see scores of 4.0 (extends), 3.0 (mastery), 2.o (developing mastery), or 1.0 (not yet mastering). A 3.0 grade is the expectation at the end of the school year. When targets repeat in more than one trimester, it is expected that a student is developing until the final reporting of that target.  If mastery is demonstrated early on, a student will have the opportunity to extend their learning with critical thinking.
